Today I want to share with you my current farming method in POE 3.23 Affliction League. I am a firm believer that we can farm every farming method, so I think we should do the farming methods we enjoy doing, not what people tell you is the most efficient farming method.
I have tried many farming methods, but I rarely pay attention to the efficiency of farming in a short period. I pay more attention to the results. I like to use the farming method to run maps. So if you feel the same way, I think this farming method will be very beneficial for you.
We’ll start with Eater of World. In my opinion, Eater of World excels in this regard. Because Affliction League’s Underground buff will cause monsters to drop a lot of extra POE Currency.
And compared to Searching Exarch, Eater of World’s Altars have a higher chance of copying the base currency. It actually feels like a jackpot game and a puzzle game compared to farming.
Discovering Divine Orb’s Altar was one of the best experiences I had in POE. Remember, when you get Divine Altar from a minion or boss, don’t rush to kill them quickly. You should try to find a base currency copy of Altar, especially if you drop Divine Orb on Boss Altar.
When we farm Harvest, it also increases the quantity of Lifeforce. But there are a lot of bad drawbacks that go against many builds. I think this is the primary reason people don’t like farming Eater of World.
So if you want to try farming Eater of World, you’ll probably want Ailment Immunity and use Topaz and Sapphire Flasks.
Eater of World’s Altar will also counter charges. If you stack charges, you need to choose the altar carefully. And it also works against projectiles and spell builds. My current build runs it just fine. The only bad thing about altar for me is the reduced defense per Frenzy Charges.
The next farming method will be Harvest with Crop Rotation. Harvest with Crop Rotation is a very interesting puzzle game for me. So let’s talk about how Crop Rotation works quickly.
With Crop Rotation, all your seeds will start at the first level every time. You choose a seed and other seeds of different colors have a chance to upgrade to a higher level. So assuming we find a Harvest like this, we might choose purple as the first three, blue as the fourth, and yellow as the last, then the fifth seed would get four buffs.
If we don’t hit the wilt from Heart of the Grove, it has a high chance of upgrading many third or fourth level seeds, which would be a jackpot. And every time I farm Harvest, it gives me 0.1-0.3 Divine Orb.
In this case, we should skip Harvest. Because that’s not enough to get us good final growth.
We also farm Harbinger, and like I said, I love killing monsters all the time. Harbinger is very simple, just keep killing the monsters Harbinger spawns.
Farming Harbinger has a chance to drop Fracturing Shards and Mirror Shards, but the drop rate is actually very low. So if you focus on Fracturing Shards and Mirror Shards, you will be very disappointed.
So I actually focused on the monster it spawned. Harbinger has just spawned many monsters, including rare monsters with Underground buff in this league. They actually drop a lot of good stuff. I got some Scarabs and six socket items from Harbinger monster.
We also farm Strongbox. Strongbox and Essence are the reasons for my struggle. I chose Strongbox over Atlas Skill Tree, which is closer to my plan. And Essence map making option isn’t available in this league, so we can’t farm it efficiently.
But if you really like farming Essence, you can still farm it on lower-tier maps. You don’t have to get Underground buff in low-tier maps, you can get Seventh Gate Atlas Keystone and focus on farming Essence. I think this would be a really good way to farm.
For Strongbox, you just open it and kill the monsters. This is a very simple method of currency and Divination Card farming. And operating Strongbox really helps me maintain my Scarabs.
But you have to be very careful with this modifier “Detonates Nearby Corpses,” especially for melee players.

They now have a significant reduction in total defense from Determination and Grace, and generally cannot afford the stat cost of equipping new high-end armor and evasion base types. They also lose the scaling of armor and evasion from Defiance Banner. This, combined with the loss of Physical Damage taken as modifiers, means that these builds are stuck with the most dangerous damage type for most builds when they first enter the map, which is physical attacks.
However, take a look at the distribution of Ascendancy in Softcore Trade League a month after the release of POE 3.26. You’ll find that three of the top four Ascendancy builds are top and right side builds, namely Trickster, Occultist, and Elementalist.
As we all know, builds are usually classified according to the side of the passive tree they originate from, with top and right side being associated with certain archetypes. Builds starting from the top of the tree are usually associated with spells, continuous damage, and minion builds, while right side builds are usually known for melee, spells, continuous damage, crits, traps, and mines builds.
Let’s start with Trickster, which once again became the most used Ascendancy in PoE 3.26. Despite having been nerfed significantly in the last league, the class has been nerfed in multiple areas in 3.26.
From Escape Artist’s defensive scaling being nerfed, to Polymath’s damage bonus taking a big hit, to specific nerfs like Lightning Strike being nerfed significantly, and Ephemeral Edge losing 25% damage scaling.
Combined, these changes have had a huge impact on the scaling of Ephemeral Edge attack builds. Now, these builds mainly improve defense and offense by constantly stacking energy shields.
But frankly, these nerfs are not enough. Lightning Strike has been replaced by a Transfigured version of Smite of Divine Judgement.
While Ephemeral Edge’s damage scaling has been cut, this specific build benefits from one of the most dysfunctional mercenary interactions in this league, which means that Trickster builds can focus on stacking energy shields more than ever before.
As a result, even after Escape Artist nerf, we still often see Trickster players with 25,000 or more energy shield.
However, the impact goes far beyond this. After two major changes, Occultist finally ushered in a breakthrough ascension in this expansion.
A month after the release of POE 3.26, Occultist’s popularity is second only to Trickster.
Now, Occultist Ascendancy itself has been adjusted to Vile Bastion in this patch, which allows the maximum energy shield to be increased to resist spell damage. This is a significant buff to energy shield and allows you to increase two defenses at the same time.
But on its own, it may not be enough to compete with Trickster’s Escape Artist.
Fortunately, the new Runegraft mechanism in POE 3.26 can increase global defense, but the attribute will be reduced. This is another key addition to increase energy shield.
More importantly is the arrival of Whispers of Infinity, a new unique Amulet that is exclusively dropped by the new Pinnacle Atlas Boss.
This Amulet not only provides super high Energy Shield, but also makes skills consume Energy Shield instead of Mana or Life, which greatly benefits Occultist and Trickster builds, allowing them to increase defense by stacking Energy Shield while also increasing attack power by increasing the effective hit pool.
So, what about Elementalist? In fact, this Ascendancy class may have the most changes of all Ascendancy in the league.
The most interesting thing about this Ascendancy is that the universal property adjustments it brings with Golems can benefit a large number of builds, such as Ignite Eviscerate to Herald stacking Blade Vortex to Storm Call, and so on, which also contain many different defense settings.

Now, among the many top builds, Berserker and Chieftain each have their strengths, but have evolved in very different ways. After becoming the most built class in the first week, Berserker’s popularity has plummeted in the league, while Chieftain’s popularity has soared. So, what’s going on?
In fact, at the beginning of the league, Berserker actually had an extremely strong start with Volcanic Fissure of Snaking and Earthshatter. Both of these builds were very strong from the start.
