Four Reasons To Obtain POE Currency Here

Players, with only two days left until Path of Exile 3.29 Curse of the Allflame, our preparation time is running out. We'd better make sure we understand the class changes before the new challenge league begins.

As for Assassin class, it also receives significant mechanic adjustments in PoE 3.29, transforming it from a long-standing niche choice with only 1% to 3% usage to a highly competitive and powerful Assassin for specific build directions.

While the core issues related to Assassin's Poison mechanic haven't been resolved, we can leverage the Instant Leech mechanic and Bifurcated Critical Strikes to provide substantial damage and healing for hit-based builds.

Poison System Dilemma

The reason Assassin's usage rate has been so dismal in previous versions of PoE is ultimately because of the poor synergy between its Poison and Critical Strike systems.

In PoE 3.29, Poison didn't receive any substantial buffs; in fact, it was indirectly weakened by the removal of Awakened Support Gem - Damage over Time builds rely more heavily on gem levels, making the negative impact more pronounced.

Furthermore, there's still a clear mechanic conflict between Perfect Agony and nodes. Even nodes that don't synergize with it can't be used effectively, making Poison crit builds logically inconsistent.

While some nodes have decent stats, considering the significantly weaker relative strength of Poison in Curse of the Allflame environment, these nodes don't perform ideally in actual combat.

Core Nodes Evaluation

Left-Side Nodes

The left-side nodes of Assassin tree didn't undergo fundamental changes in Patch 3.29, but some still retain practical value.

Shadowed Blood

This node provides immunity to Damaging Ailments, offering some utility in certain PoE combat scenarios. It's not entirely useless, but the trade-off of a Notable Ascendancy passive skill is worth considering.

Mistwalker

Mistwalker provides Assassins with an attack dodge chance and movement speed bonus based on Elusive effects. At 100% Elusive amplification, it averages about a 30% movement speed increase and a 15% hit damage dodge chance, making it a decent choice.

For the Jugular and Knife in the Back

These nodes work on low-health and non-low-health enemies respectively, but we can acquire them simultaneously through Forbidden Flesh and Forbidden Flame, stacking them for 100% more Critical Strike Chance and +100% to Critical Strike Multiplier, resulting in extremely high damage potential in a well-developed build.

Right-side Nodes

The key update to Assassin in Path of Exile 3.29 lies on the right side of the tree, where two nodes fundamentally change the utility and power of Assassins.

Deathmarked

First, this node provides a 10% effect boost for each Power Charge it holds, and each Power Charge grants 3% Instant Leech.

For example, with 10 Power Charges, this achieves a 30% Instant Leech rate, six times Instant Leech effect of general passive skills.

This recovery ability is particularly powerful for high-attack-frequency, high-accuracy characters, effectively solving the problem of sustained combat recovery in the late Path of Exile content.

However, it's worth noting that Deathmarked isn't limited to Life Leech, so it also applies to Energy Shield and Mana Leech, making it suitable for defensive systems like Eldritch Battery and Mind Over Matter.

Bifurcated Critical Strike Damage

This node has a double-check mechanism, meaning that if either of the two critical strikes is a critical strike, then the entire attack is considered a critical strike.

If both strikes are critical strikes, you will receive an additional 100% more Critical Strike Damage.

For builds with a critical strike chance close to or at 100%, Bifurcated Critical Strike Damage effectively provides a permanent 100% more Critical Strike Damage, making the benefit particularly significant.

Additionally, this node only reduces spell critical strike chance, so its impact on offensive builds or builds that rely on spells triggered by attacks is relatively small.

Resource Management Optimization

Another major value of the updated Assassin nodes lies in the effective management of Mana and Energy Shield resources.

Instant Leech, combined with Eldritch Battery to convert Energy Shield into Mana, and then with Mind Over Matter to transfer some damage taken to Mana, allows Assassins to achieve multiple synergies of defense, Mana Regeneration, and Life Regeneration.

Compared to the traditional Energy Shield system in PoE that relies on Recharge, Instant Leech is unaffected by combat interruptions and has a higher recovery efficiency than conventional methods.

This mechanism perfectly compensates for Assassins' weakness in defensive layers, giving them good survivability even in the late game of Path of Exile 3.29 after gearing up.

Assassin's Competitiveness

Although Assassins already possess top-tier damage caps and recovery capabilities in Curse of the Allflame, their competitiveness in the early stages of new leagues will still face strong challenges from Witch classes.

Occultist boasts excellent Notable Ascendancy passive skills like Forbidden Power and Vile Bastion, while Elementalist provides stable defense and healing through Golems in the early game, resulting in a higher overall margin for error.

Therefore, Assassin might be more suitable as a second build choice during progression, but once you have sufficient gear and a Power Charge system, you can fully unleash its full potential with Instant Leech and Bifurcated Critical Strikes.

Players, if you're aiming for maximum damage in PoE 3.29, then Assassin is now a top-tier option you can't ignore!

The campaign content of Path of Exile is not inherently dull, yet for players eager to reach the endgame, it often feels like little more than a time sink. Even seasoned veterans typically need around a dozen hours to clear all ten acts.

Nevertheless, the developers have tucked plenty of clever details into the campaign - especially since PoE 3.24, which added significant new content to Acts 6–10. We will skip the hidden tricks in Acts 2–5 here, as they are mostly cumbersome, offer mediocre rewards, and aren't new additions.

Some players may have missed these features, but they could help you speed through the campaign in PoE 3.29 Curse of the Allflame.

Act 1 - Chemist Strongbox

In The Upper Prison of Act 1, just before the confrontation with Brutus, a strongbox icon will appear on your minimap. As you approach, you will see that it sits alone in a room at the back, enclosed with no visible entrance.

The mechanism lies on a stone pillar in the middle of the corridor. After you trigger the switch, a skeleton will collapse, and the passage will open.

This is a Chemist Strongbox, which contains various flasks. You stand a good chance of obtaining a Quicksilver Flask, giving you two of them early on for faster movement through the zones. Of course, it may also yield mana flasks, life flasks, or other types.

Act 6 - Free Tattoo

In Karui Fortress of Act 6, just before you face God of War, a small island sits in the centre of the area. Monsters styled after those from Trial of the Ancestors occupy this island; defeating them drops one free Tattoo.

Act 7 - Quality Gem

In Chamber of Sins Level 2 of Act 7, the zone features an exit and also spawns an Ascendancy Trial. After you locate and complete the trial, look for a switch on the back wall of the trial's endpoint room - you may need to search briefly.

Activating the switch opens a small door beside it. Inside, a Hidden Gem chest holds a gem with Quality.

Act 7 - Smuggler's Cache

Near the end of Act 7, after defeating the act boss Arakali, you arrive at Sun Ramparts. Follow the wall closely; in the early stretch of the ramparts, you will spot a very conspicuous wooden lever. Pulling it opens a tunnel area. Inside the tunnel, you will find both a strongbox and a Smuggler's Cache.

Act 7 - Corrupted Unique

Also in Act 7, within Temple of Decay Level 1, once you reach the centre of the zone, you will see rooms that look notably red on one side. These include Corrupted Arms, Corrupted Armor, and Corrupted Prized Arms. The first two grant corrupted rare items, while Corrupted Prized Arms drops a corrupted unique item.

Act 8 - Chemist Strongbox

In Grain Gate area of Act 8, you can find another Chemist Strongbox. This strongbox may provide you with an extra Quicksilver Flask, or useful flasks such as Diamond Flask and Jade Flask.

Additionally, within the Grain Gate zone, a book reveals the location of Gemling Legionnaires. You need to defeat these monsters to receive quest reward points from Maramoa.

Act 8 - Hidden Underbelly

Near Grain Gate area, a huge crane stands. Beside its base is a conspicuous blue circular manhole cover. Click on it to open the cover and enter Hidden Underbelly.

This is a transitional zone that essentially serves as a shortcut. Traversing Hidden Underbelly gives you access to both The Solaris Concourse and The Bath House. If you exit from The Bath House side, you will find yourself very close to an Ascendancy Trial.

Act 8 - Scouring Orbs

Inside The Bath House of Act 8, there is also a Private Chamber that contains a chest. Opening it yields 2 to 3 Orbs of Scouring.

Act 8 - Free Unique Item

In The Lunaris Temple of Act 8, the floor is covered in blue carpets, but in one corner you can find a white tile with a golden circular pattern in its centre.

When you stand on it, a line of dialogue appears in the chat box on the right, and the surrounding braziers ignite. A similar tile exists in The Solaris Temple Level 1 as well.

After triggering both prompts, head to The Grand Promenade. At a specific spot, you will discover a door that does not normally appear, with an emblem on the ground that bears both solar and lunar symbols. Go up the stairs into the inner room and open Twilight's End chest there to obtain a free unique item.

Act 9 - Rare Jewel

In Act 9, after you enter Vastiri Desert, a small area lies to the right of the entrance, with several statues standing there.

Among them are the Crimson Offering, Verdant Offering, and Sapphire Offering. Choose one of them, and the other offerings will crumble. You will receive a rare jewel corresponding to your chosen offering.

Act 9 - Fossils

On your way to defeat Gorgon, you can choose to follow the left wall. This path leads you to a camp, where two fossil remnants are found. Click on them to obtain two free Fossils.

Act 9 - Refinery Crafting Recipe

In Refinery, follow the railway tracks, and you will find a crane similar to the one in The Grain Gate, which opens the way to a hidden underbelly area. Entering Refinery tunnels, you will encounter monsters, and you can also find a Crafting Recipe.

Act 10 - Facetor's Lens

When you enter Bone Pits in Oriath, locate Ascendancy Trial within. On one side of the trial area there is a switch; after activating it on the other side, a hidden door opens.

Inside the chest beyond that door, although it appears to hold a hidden gem, what you actually obtain is a Facetor's Lens. It stores 10 million experience points, which you can apply directly to any gem of your choice.

These are just a few of the hidden items found in Path of Exile campaign. While their value might be negligible to players who have already reached the endgame, they are very helpful for those still progressing through the story. Similar hidden content exists in Acts 2 through 5 - waiting for you to discover it yourself.

In Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5, the problem with Expeditions is quite obvious: high rewards, but also a lot of trouble. Many guides teach you how to maximize the rewards of each map, but for most players, the real issue isn't insufficient rewards, but rather the excessive complexity of the process.

Should you spend currency repeatedly adjusting map affixes? How should you choose tablets? How should you combine remnants? Should you continue stacking rune modifiers during transmission? Analyzing all these questions can make farming an Expedition map take longer than actually playing it.

The approach described in this article is simpler: reduce preparation time and get Expeditions running. Don't over-invest in maps, don't buy expensive tablets, keep the difficulty within a manageable range, and accumulate rewards through numerous Expedition runs.

Travel Map

In the entire Expedition loop in Patch 0.5, Travel Map acts more like a material production stage.

A common mistake among many PoE 2 players is approaching Travel Maps like a standard farming map, trying to fully clear every enemy and maximize all possible rewards. However, the most important aspect here is finding Expeditions and quickly crafting Logbooks.

Once you reach T15 maps, using an Alchemy Orb to upgrade them into rare maps is usually enough; there's no need to spend large amounts of Path of Exile 2 Currency on repeatedly fine-tuning map affixes. As long as there aren't any significant negative effects on your character, you can enter.

Tablet selection doesn't need to be complicated either; prioritize affixes that increase item rarity and enhance effects. Expedition Tablets are prone to price gouging, but for a low-cost playstyle, perfection isn't necessary.

The recommended Master for Travel Map is Hilda, focusing on Scarred Lands. This node increases the number of Runic Monsters and the spawn rate of rare Expedition monsters, and these Runic Monsters are the primary source of Logbooks.

Once you enter the map, try to head directly to Expeditions. Don't intentionally clear regular monsters; focus on dealing with Runic Monsters. Verisium Sentry can be dealt with early because it strengthens subsequent monsters. While fighting it will be more troublesome, the loot will be better.

If your Atlas has Abyss-related affixes, you can also include Abyss. When Abyss and Expedition overlap, Expedition monsters receive additional buffs, resulting in a significantly better Logbook count. However, not having them isn't a problem; it's not a requirement.

Grand Expedition

The real money-maker is the large Expedition. Compared with Travel Maps, Grand Expeditions require a bit more consideration when dealing with Remnants, but there is still no need to waste excessive time analyzing every single modifier combination.

Many PoE 2 players like to increase Remnant repetition effects because theoretically, the returns are higher. However, this approach takes too long and can easily push the map difficulty to a level you can't handle.

Therefore, for Return of the Ancients' low-cost farming method, Doryani-related Atlas nodes are more recommended. The reason is simple: speed.

The most time-consuming part of Expedition is placing explosives and planning routes. If a large Expedition takes too long, even with a high individual reward, the overall benefit will decrease.

Doryani's wide-area blasting ability reduces the time spent planning routes and placing explosives, allowing players to complete an Expedition faster. Tablets can continue using low-cost rarity and effect enhancements; there's no need to spend a lot of currency on a few extra affixes.

Remnant

The most common pitfall in Expeditions is rune propagation. Some runes on Remnants affect subsequent blast areas; a gold border indicates this effect will propagate.

Simply put, the more enhancements you choose, the stronger the monsters later, and the higher the reward. However, the problem is that some enhancements are not easily handled by average PoE 2 players.

If your character's gear is average, it's not recommended to force extra rune propagation. A slightly lower reward is acceptable, but don't let a single explosion turn the entire map into a boss fight. Gradually increase the difficulty once you have better gear.

In Return of the Ancients, there are a few combinations to be particularly careful about: Life Rune, Soul Rune, and Union of Souls.

These affixes might seem harmless individually, but when stacked, the monster's health becomes ridiculously high, especially in Expedition when there are many monsters, making it easy to find yourself struggling to kill them.

Logbook Route and Boss Selection

Once you enter Logbook, focus on Uncharted Waters.

It's best to choose areas with multiple Island Rumors; at least three will be more comfortable. Areas with only one Rumor usually offer limited rewards. In PoE 2 Patch 0.5, you can refresh Rumor display by moving items in your inventory to find hidden routes.

As we've been emphasizing, Expedition has a characteristic: the longer you stay in the planning area, the more significantly the rewards decrease. Therefore, don't spend too much time researching routes.

For bosses, focus on Uhtred and Olroth.

Uhtred's key value lies in Depleted Mana Rune. If you see Stardrinker related Rumor, prioritize entering it. If not, you can use Saga to activate it directly. This drop is very valuable, but it's essentially a onetime objective. Once you get it, there's no need to keep farming Uhtred.

Afterward, you can shift your focus to Olroth. Olroth's loot pool is more stable; Uhtred's Augury, Uhtred's Exodus, and Uhtred's Omen are all quite valuable items.

Find areas with Origin of the Fall Rumor to trigger Olroth Boss fight. The boss itself isn't particularly difficult; pay attention to the skill mechanics. However, the biggest risk with Expedition Boss is the reduced efficiency because of death, so always keep an eye on your health.

Shattered Triskelion and Atlas Direction

Shattered Triskelion is a PoE 2 Quest chain boss; it's fightable, but not recommended as a primary focus for low-cost farming. If your goal is to earn currency, spending time on Logbook and Olroth loops is more worthwhile.

For Atlas, prioritize nodes that increase Remnant count, enhance Runic Monsters, and improve Power Rune rewards. Expedition rewards largely depend on how many Remnants you encounter.

The more Remnants you encounter, the higher your chance of high-value rewards. Additionally, in the late stages of Return of the Ancients, consider choosing Forest-related nodes to increase the probability of Expedition Bosses dropping Lineage Support Gems.

This Expedition setup isn't for ranking or maximizing single-map profits. With suitable gear, it's sufficient for T15 content but is suitable for players who don't want to invest heavily in currency researching complex mechanics.

Don't play Expedition like a simulation game requiring endless calculations. The key to long-term profitability in Expedition is quick entry, quick assessment, quick exit, and moving on to the next map.

Players, Path of Exile 3.29 is about to launch. Have you already set your sights on Power Charge stacking build, represented by Winter Orb? It's certainly powerful, but precisely because of this, you might be falling into a trap—when everyone rushes to play the same build, core gear becomes extremely difficult to acquire.

Before deciding on your PoE 3.29 starting build, read on, because this article will tell you why avoiding this seemingly perfect choice is the smarter approach.

Why are so many players choosing Power Charge build?

The balance adjustments in Path of Exile 3.29 have specifically nerfed several mainstream spell builds, forcing players to find new DPS alternatives. Power Charge system, unaffected and with a particularly high damage cap, has naturally become the focus of attention.

If we analyze the specific systems that will be weakened in Patch 3.29, we find quite a few.

Totems

Totems system as a whole will be nerfed in multiple ways. For example, the damage bonus provided by each Totem in Hierophant ascendancy will be reduced, and the strength of Spell Totem support gems themselves will be lowered.

Mines

Mines system will also suffer consecutive blows, affecting Charged Mines Support, High-Impact Mine Support, and Blastchain Mine Support, among others.

Archmage

The additional lightning damage of the core Archmage skill set has also been directly nerfed.

Life Stackers

Builds that rely on high Life for damage bonuses (such as builds related to Wraith Pact) will also see a significant decrease in strength in the new patch.

With the above-mentioned traditionally powerful spell builds all being nerfed, Power Charge stacking system, with its stable damage boost and unnerfed mechanics, has become a highly sought-after system by many players.

Whether it's Elementalist's acquisition of Assassin's Ascendancy Passives through Forbidden Jewels, or the natural synergy between Assassin and Occultist, the potential player base for Power Charge builds has expanded dramatically.

Core Gear Requirements

Since everyone basically knows that to play Power Charge build well in PoE, you inevitably need to use a few specific unique items, players in the new league will probably face pressure from the difficulty of obtaining these items and their high prices.

Ralakesh's Impatience

Ralakesh's Impatience is the cornerstone of the entire Power Charge build system. It allows the character to maintain maximum Power Charge while moving.

These boots completely offset the negative effect of Malachai's Loop shield periodically depleting Power Charge and causing electrocution, therefore it must be used in Power Charge build.

Ralakesh's Impatience is a Tier 1 unique item with three different variants. Therefore, with a one-third drop rate, the actual effective supply of these boots is even lower.

Voll's Devotion

While Voll's Devotion provides +1 maximum Power Charge, it also has the downside of losing all Power Charge upon a critical hit. Therefore, it must be paired with the aforementioned Ralakesh's Impatience boots for stable use.

Additionally, some players use PoE currency to corrupt versions with an additional +1 Power Charge—this consumes a large amount of base amulets, which will undoubtedly further drive up amulet prices.

Heatshiver

Furthermore, many builds use Heatshiver helmet, which, like the amulet, gains a hidden +1 Power Charge affix through corruption.

Because of the huge demand in Patch 3.29, the price of helmets with desirable corruption affixes will also rise significantly.

Impact of Legion Mechanism

In Legion mechanic, the new currency, Enshrouding Crystals allows players to extract specific affixes from a unique item and transfer them as a hidden enchantment to another unique item.

This could very well lead players to extract the strongest affix (maximum Power Charge) from Ralakesh's Impatience and transfer it to other, better boots. In other words, each time this happens, a pair of Ralakesh's Impatience boots will be permanently removed from PoE 3.29 economic pool.

Therefore, it's foreseeable that for at least one to two weeks after the new league starts, the price of Ralakesh's Impatience will reach extremely high levels.

Coping Strategies

Based on the above gear price trends, players can now formulate corresponding strategies.

Transitioning to a Gear Supplier

First, some players might think that since Power Charge-related gear materials are so sought after, why not abandon Power Charge build altogether and choose a low-cost, gear-dependent build for early game progression?

We can corrupt base items like rings and helmets dropped in the game, specifically seeking out those with +1 maximum Power Charge affix that can fetch a high price. These finished products can then be sold at a high price to Power Charge build players who urgently need them, thus quickly accumulating PoE currency.

Using Power Charge Build as a Secondary Role

Once you've accumulated enough currency using the methods described above and completed the initial map exploration, you can start paying close attention to whether the prices of core equipment have dropped. 

If the price is right, you can consider unlocking equipment and leveling up a new character to continue your league journey.

This way, we can avoid the predicament of being stuck in Path of Exile 3.29 due to not being able to afford key equipment.

Using Power Charge Build Early

If players are confident in their game efficiency and luck, believing they can reach Atlas faster than most players and unlock core gear at a low price before the market reacts, then you can still start with a Power Charge build.

However, this early-use strategy should not be attempted by ordinary players; it is more suitable for players with extensive experience in PoE games.
